This presentation will give you a thoughtful approach to being a digital artist. The purpose is to remove us from the tendency to being a slave to the photographic image and instead explore ways to go beyond it and create a whole new concept from what the original images represent. Some of the techniques include using Smart Objects & Smart Filters for photographic compositing, integrating 3D objects into CS3's new 3D layers to create a concept scene and HDR.

We will explore HDR (High Dynamic Range) to extend tonal detail for the purpose of integrating visual texture into the concept scene. HDR is the newest buzz word in the photographic community. Digital cameras do not have the ability to provide an extended range of tonal and color information natively in a single shot but CS3 has a way of giving you an HDR image through "Merge to HDR" for controlling the image's tonal flow.
